About the role:
We are looking for a Director to coordinate and drive Aircall’s tax compliance globally. The right candidate is comfortable in a fast paced, ever changing environment and is passionate about improving systems and processes in order to ensure indirect tax compliance in any jurisdiction.
This position will be based in NYC and will report directly to the VP of Accounting & Consolidation based in Paris. This position will be a global role covering all jurisdictions where Aircall sets up subsidiaries. At the present time, we have subsidiaries in the US, France, Australia, and Spain. As a next round, we are planning to open subsidiaries in Germany, UK, and India.
What you'll do: Manage all tax advisor relationship with respect to indirect tax compliance mattersManage indirect tax compliance budget with the FP&A teamMonitor change of tax regulation and recommend changes if necessaryWork closely with local finance controllers to ensure smooth processes with advisors and compliance with local deadlines. Routine work will be managed by the finance controllers with proper automation supported by this positionCoordinate and implement any new system or process to ensure indirect tax complianceImplement and monitor internal controls with respect to Indirect Tax complianceCoordinate with Aircall teams and external advisors any matters related to indirect tax during tax auditsRecommend and then implement any corrective actions
What you'll bring: You have a good knowledge of state and local tax compliance in the USYou had some international exposure in indirect tax complianceYou have some knowledge of accounting and consolidationYou are a quick learner, able to learn complex new systems and processes at a subject matter expert level and then explain the functionality and approach to othersYou have experience identifying and driving process improvementsYou are able to build relationships with stakeholders across the organizationYou are comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast paced environmentYou have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable presenting to large groupsExperience:You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or TaxYou have 7-10 years or more of management / project management experience, preferably in a global organization or consulting firmYou have experience with tax softwares, in particular you have already set up parameters in such a compliance toolKnowledge of the tech industry / telecommunications industry is a plus! Knowledge of Netsuite and Avalara is a plus!
